七月七日到二十三日是多伦多每年一度的Summerlicious美食节。

言归正传，今天我们评测的是多伦多最顶级的，号称Toronto Number One的 Canoe Restaurant & Bar。

这家餐馆位于多伦多市中心TD Bank Tower 54楼，考究的现代风格装修，简约又不失高贵；一边座位可以观赏到湖景，天气好的时候据说可以望到Pickering, 傍晚更是可以观赏日落，浪漫十足；另一边则可以看到CN Tower, Rogers Center以及湖心岛, 让你在忙碌的城市生活中突得一丝惬意与清凉。

Canoe 的menu以高级的新式加拿大菜式为主,每两个月就会更新一些新式的菜色,例如a baked tournevent goat cheese with a pumpkin maple dressing 或者 broiled B.C. sablefish with simmered oxtail, black trumpets, mustard fruit and "Newfie screech." 而且Canoe更强调 "Organic" 和 "Made in Canada", 所以不少美食都是来自本地生产的材料。

每一道菜都可以看出是是经过精心制作的，色香味任何一点都无从挑剔。

服务方面也是另人十分满意。 每上一道菜时，waiter会对这道菜稍做介绍。每用完一道菜与送上下道菜的间隔时间大概15分钟左右，还是能够另人接受的。所有的waiter/waitress都十分礼貌而且热情度也恰到好处，让人进餐时轻松舒适。

 

价钱方面, 以Toronto No.1 的身份，Canoe用餐价格自然不菲拉，平日两人正餐加红酒至少就要税前$220左右。

而Summerlicious就不同了，小编两人只要$110。

另外几点:

1. 停车: TD Tower的地下停车场5:30pm之后Canoe的顾客是免费停车的，入口在Toronto Dominion Centre at 66 Wellington St. W, 进去之后有"Canoe Parking"指示牌。用完餐后waiter会主动问你需要不需要泊车卡。

2. Dress Code: Business Casual

3. 支持Visa, Master, AMEX信用卡支付。

4. 据不可靠消息，每周四多伦多的大富翁会在Canoe用餐， 身价总值超过 40 billions. WOW~... 小编也是周四去的, 俺的身价是... 汗..

We went as a group of four and we all loved virtually everything we had. I have on a number of occasions spent considerably more money on a meal in this city and most of the time I end up disappointed. I was expecting the same again but for once - a flawless meal in Toronto! The wait staff we dealt with had a great sense of humor and I certainly didn't experience any snobbery even though we were probably the most under-dressed group in the room. The starters were great (the Canoe plate was perfect) and everybody raved about their mains. My beef tenderloin was the best piece of meat I have had in this city - quite a feat considering I have been on a quest for TO's best steak only to be disappointed time and again. Quite a surprise then to find it here in the form of a tenderloin topped with a slow-braised, fatty, mini-slab of beef brisket designed to drool flavor onto and into the tender meat below it. My Japanese father in-law (visiting Canada for the week) had the same dish and enthusiastically agreed, saying it was perhaps the best beef he has every had - and this is a man that loves beef and regularly dines at top places in Tokyo on business.

Maybe we were just lucky but I am totally bewildered by the reviews here, especially given how kick-ass the food was and how nice, good humoured and attentive the service we experienced. I have seen several other sites with much more positive reviews of this restaurant by readers - so I am chalking these bad reviews up to random chance. www.yummymap.com网友评测

Canoe which overlooks the Toronto Islands from the 54th floor of the Wellington Building, is the epitome of upscale Canadian dining. Low lighting and gleaming wooden veneer and slate make it a romantic hideaway at night. The view is fantastic too. The food is distinctly indigenous to North America and features dishes such as Manitoba Wild Rice Risotto, Fisher Bay Pickerel, Roasted Red Deer Loin, and Ted's Organic Arctic Char.

If you can't decide what delight to have you can order items from the tasting menu for $85. Service is professional and attentive. The average cost per person including tip is roughly $100. www.yummymap.com网友评测

I had a business dinner at Canoe last night. The service was amazing. Very attentive but not to the point of being annoying.
Great choice of entrees and all cooked to perfection. The bread is great as are the desserts. We were seated quickly and spent over two hours eating and talking. No pressure to leave the table even though the dining room was packed and no outdoor seating was used due to severe rainstorm. I will return to this wonderful restaurant. Went to Canoe 2 years ago for our anniversary. I found the waitress that waited on us to be VERY friendly and definitely made us feel real comfortable. I really can't recall all the food we had, I think I had Deer for dinner and Foie Gras for an appetizer. My girlfriend had some kind of sushi salad as an appetizer and I can't recall her main. I do recall that there are better values out there for the kind of coin u would drop there. The 1 thing I do remember is my girlfriend raving about a hot chocolate cake dessert item she had there. www.yummymap.com网友评测

Service 8/10
- Everyone got their food at the SAME TIME - 8 of us. Each plate was described and delivered by 4 servers.
- Wrong bill though... odd.
- Really courteous, no attitude. We weren't the conservative bunch thats for sure... but it was too quiet in there, we injected some energy into that place.

Food: 8/10
- Appetizer the smoked salmon and the goat cheese salad was good, the soup was okay.
- Main - tenderloin was great, well cooked. Tuna was good.
- Dessert - Cheesecake was nice almond base and was soft. The chocolate cake was a little sweet for me but nice and warm with a bit of spiciness.

Ambience: 8.5/10
- Very dim and romantic. Lighting was well placed and just the right amount.
- A contemperary design but still confortable.
- Cloudy day, didn't really get to enjoy the view.

Overall 9/10
Didn't have faith in summerlicious after Truffles... The crappiest experience ever. Basically, Truffles just gave me a $60x2 cold happy meal. A 3 star restaurant that thinks its a 5 star.

Canoe was really amazing and would definitely like to try another now. And maybe go back on a regular night. I heard its about $300 for 2. www.yummymap.com网友评测

Went to Canoe last night. The food was excellent and regarding food quality and atmosphere.

Got a table at the window. Great view. Make sure you ask for this when you arrive.

But our waiter either didn't like us or was having a bad night cuz I sensed serious attitude. Still, we had a great evening. And you can't beat the price for an evening at Canoe. The bill totalled about $114 after tax and tip. Along with the meal, we both had a rum cocktail called D'licious ($7.50 each) which tasted pretty good. So the bill was ($35+$7.50) x 2 =$85 plus tax and tip.

I would consider going back but the prices are pretty hefty during non-licious times. www.yummymap.com网友评测
